Merger featured in case study
With the help of La Piana Consulting, on July 1, 2012, Family and Youth Services (FAYS) and the Women’s Center of San Joaquin County officially merged to become a new organization, Women’s Center – Youth & Family Services.
The merger is the first of its kind in San Joaquin County in more than a decade, and this union has created a stronger organization with a larger platform, better able to serve the needs of our community. Women’s Center-YFS is San Joaquin County’s only provider of shelter and services specifically designed to meet the needs of homeless youth and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Our staff of more than 75 employees operates 8 sites, 4 of them open round-the-clock, to serve adults, children, youth and families throughout the county. Last year we served more than 21,000 individuals, including more than 750 women, children and youth who stayed in our shelters.
